Domestic violence is violent or aggressive behavior, typically involving the violent abuse of a spouse or partner. The NFL sees itself as a league of fairness. A sponsor is a person or organization that provides funds for a project or activity carried out by another entity.
Several weeks back, I contacted a sampling of the National Football League's sponsors with a simple question:
Dear [SPONSOR NAME],
You are a proud sponsor of NFL. Is 2 games a fair suspension for punching your wife in the face and knocking her unconscious? A simple yes or no answer will suffice.
This is a yes or no question. It is a question that humans should be able to answer.
Here are the responses I received:
Anheuser-Busch - "As a major advertiser and the official beer sponsor of the NFL, we recognize the possibility that some viewers will disagree with decisions made by the league. With that being said, Anheuser-Busch does not get involved in the management of the NFL, its players or operations. However, I will be sure to document your concerns and share them with the appropriate departments at our company. Thank you again for the e-mail, Chid. I hope you have a good week."
