Roundup - Friday, July 18, 2014

This is a big day for me. This Roundup marks the four-month mark of Your Curator's lonely, miserable toil in this capacity. Have I learned anything? Yes. People on the internet are awful, awful monsters. Here's your Friday Roundup.

Favorites and Duds From Today's Commenting

Favorites, in no particular order:

Well. Lauren Cox might be certifiably insane. I mean, how are you going to espouse some faux form of moral relativism and then quote the Bible as your moral compass? Nevermind. Let's give Madoffs Mets a hearty round of applause for this excellent inversion joke in the face of outright stupidity. Well done.

Also in the Lauren Cox diatribe, ReverseApeChemist finished the week strong with a splendid deconstruction dialogue that is perfect there. I especially liked the "[carves 911]" absurdity.

Yeesh, Same Sad Echo, this sentence is a little dark, don't you think? Although now that I think about it, Jim Boeheim is an enabling prick, so good job.

I don't know why, but I absolutely enjoyed SavetoFavorites' turn-around in the Tour de France Crashes story. Just a very nice boomerang-zip quality to that comment that makes you say "duh."

Two favorites in the afternoon's NFL Lawsuit. Brando dropped by for a veiled bit of dialogue that makes you think, while Pleatherface took us to a very dark place. That one holds shades of Raysism's delivery, Pf.

I'm not sure who let Stev D into the building, but thanks for doing so. There were a number of Excel-criticizing jokes in the Pouty Husband post, but SD takes Comment of the Day for this simple and laconic observation. Thanks, Stev.

A bit down from Stev D, I also laughed at OldBeigeGuy's full-on nerd moment, most of all because that one I actually understood (sort of—I think).

Total Fucking Duds

Ahhh ... fuck it. No duds. It's Friday, and Your Curator may or may not be drinking. Drop your favorites and omissions below, and enjoy the weekend, my friends.
