Taking a brief adjournment from the Did-Chuck-C.-Johnson-Shit-on-the-Floor-in-College beat (because, at the end of the day, once we have established that he did, and we have because he did, there is only so much content therein) I would like to introduce everyone to a wonderful album—the only album thus far—by the extremely talented Sleepwalkers.
The album is Greenwood Shade. It was released in 2014. It is 13 tracks of perfectly crafted pop music that completely fuckin owns and you should all listen to it.
This is the first track. It is shocking how well-crafted (and I don’t mean to overuse the phrase but it’s all I can think of) this song is. It absolutely exudes professional musicianship. Yet this is their first album!
The worry, of course, after you’ve heard this is that somehow these exceptionally talented people have blown their load early, used up the totality of their musical ability on the leader track to sucker you in, and have filled the rest of the album with sub-par excrement. Not so! Take this next song:
Almost all 13 tracks on the album are equal in quality to these two. Some are even better!
So, in summary, go out and listen to this band (the album is on Spotify and is also available here) because I don’t want to be the only person I know who’s an absolute idiot about them.
